STUDENT: Suhana Dhingra

My name is Suhana Dhingra, and I am an international student who has just completed the second year of the MFA-1 Interior Design program at the New York School of Interior Design. I am reaching out to express my deep interest in the internship opportunity at your firm.

As someone who is passionate about experiential and detail-oriented design, I believe this internship aligns perfectly with both my skillset and aspirations. Having recently designed a children’s library for NYC’s Administration for Children’s Services, I led the entire process—from conceptual ideation and material selection to drafting plans, coordinating with stakeholders, and producing final presentations using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite. This hands-on experience has taught me how to translate ideas into functional, client-ready outcomes while staying organized and communicative across teams.

What excites me most about this internship is the opportunity to support on-site and off-site project work, collaborate with vendors, and contribute to presentation boards and installations. I’m confident I can contribute meaningfully in the following ways:

Project Support: My experience with software like AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite will enable me to assist with drawing sets, tear sheets, and material documentation with precision and speed.

Vendor Coordination: I’m highly organized and have previously managed sample tracking, sourced materials under deadlines, and worked directly with administrative teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Library and Sample Management: I enjoy creating and maintaining order—keeping physical and digital libraries tidy and up-to-date is something I’m naturally inclined toward.

Team Collaboration: I’m currently a design tutor at NYSID and have served as Finance Head for IIDA (NYSID Chapter), experiences that have strengthened my teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.

As an international student, I am especially eager for this chance to gain further professional exposure in the U.S. design industry. This opportunity would be more than an internship to me—it would be a chance to learn, grow, and give back through hard work and creativity. I would be grateful to contribute my energy, precision, and design sensibility to your esteemed team.

Thank you for considering my application. I’ve attached my resume for your review and would be happy to share my portfolio or discuss this opportunity further at your convenience.
